Charlotte police charge 36-year-old in $7,700 Lululemon theft case tied to wider allegations

Arrest follows February incident at Atherton Mill store in South End
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have arrested and charged a 36-year-old woman in connection with the theft of $7,700 in merchandise from a Lululemon store at Atherton Mill in Charlotte’s South End, a case that investigators say is linked to other alleged retail theft activity across multiple jurisdictions.
Police said the store’s loss-prevention staff reported the larceny on Feb. 11, 2026. Investigators reviewed surveillance footage and identified a suspect. Detectives later located a vehicle connected to the case and recovered the merchandise, but the suspect was not taken into custody at that time.
On Feb. 17, 2026, officers located and arrested the suspect, identified as Quatoya Morrison. Jail records indicate Morrison was being held at the Mecklenburg County jail on a secured bond of $515,000 as of Feb. 21.
Felony charges include habitual larceny and an allegation involving anti-theft devices
In the Atherton Mill case, Morrison faces multiple felony charges, including four counts of felony larceny and three counts of felony conspiracy. Police also charged Morrison with two counts of habitual larceny, as well as larceny involving the removal, destruction, or deactivation of a component of an anti-shoplifting or inventory control device. Additional charges include aiding and abetting, second-degree trespassing, and misdemeanor conspiracy.
North Carolina law generally treats larceny as a felony offense unless a separate statute provides otherwise. State law also includes enhanced charging provisions such as habitual larceny in circumstances tied to prior larceny convictions.
Authorities cite additional alleged thefts and outstanding warrants
Police said Morrison had outstanding warrants and an arrest history spanning multiple jurisdictions. Court documents cited in the case describe additional alleged thefts over roughly the past three months, including:
- More than $13,000 in merchandise allegedly taken from an Alo store in Raleigh
- About 25 coats valued at more than $2,000 allegedly taken from an Academy Sports location in Raleigh
- More than $1,000 in fragrance merchandise allegedly taken from a Kohl’s in Matthews
- More than $100 in shoes allegedly taken from a Rack Room Shoes in Matthews
Police also said Morrison faced additional charges from other jurisdictions, including multiple counts of felony larceny, felony conspiracy, and habitual larceny, along with misdemeanor larceny, damage to property, and common law robbery. Police said Morrison was also served with an out-of-state fugitive warrant.
Case underscores ongoing focus on high-value retail theft investigations
The investigation reflects law enforcement’s continued use of surveillance review, coordinated loss-prevention reporting, and vehicle tracking to recover merchandise and identify suspects in high-value retail theft cases. The case remains active as the charges proceed through the court system.
Morrison is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
