A wide-ranging weekend lineup across Charlotte

Charlotte’s event calendar for Friday, Jan. 30 through Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026, spans dining promotions, concerts, comedy, film, and cold-weather outdoor activities. The schedule includes ticketed performances at major venues, neighborhood events, and seasonal programming at the U.S. National Whitewater Center.

Restaurant Week returns with fixed-price menus across the region

One of the weekend’s most prominent draws is Queen’s Feast: Charlotte Restaurant Week. The winter edition runs from Jan. 23 through Feb. 1 and features three-course, prix-fixe dinner menus across more than 120 restaurants in the Charlotte region, with prices generally ranging from $30 to $55 per person. Participating locations span multiple counties around the metro area, and reservations are widely encouraged due to limited seating and peak dining times.

Wine festival and music programming anchor Saturday and Friday nights

On Saturday, Jan. 31, an indoor wine event billed as Winey Grapes: Charlotte Wine Festival is scheduled at Slate in South End, with an afternoon format and ticketed admission. Live entertainment options continue throughout the weekend, including performances at local clubs and theaters and a slate of shows that ranges from jazz and soul-influenced sets to touring party-format DJ programming.

  • Friday, Jan. 30: live music programming includes late-night country at Coyote Joe’s and jazz/R&B at Middle C Jazz.

  • Saturday, Jan. 31: additional ticketed live music continues at Middle C Jazz.

Film screenings and performing arts offerings

For filmgoers, the Charlotte Jewish Film Festival continues with scheduled screenings at the Carolina Theatre. Programming includes documentary and narrative features, with showtimes and ticket availability varying by screening. Theater and classical music are also on the calendar through the weekend, with multi-day runs and varying price tiers depending on seating and performance date.

Several weekend events are outdoors or weather-dependent, and organizers may adjust timing or operations based on conditions.

Sports, comedy, and winter outdoor activities

Sports fans have multiple options, including a Charlotte Hornets home game Saturday afternoon at Spectrum Center and Charlotte Checkers home games at Bojangles Coliseum over the weekend. Comedy also features prominently, with touring stand-up scheduled at both The Comedy Zone and Ovens Auditorium.

At the Whitewater Center, the Frigid Trail Race & Plunge is set for Saturday morning, offering 5K and 10K trail distances followed by a plunge into the facility’s Deep Water Solo pool. The venue’s winter programming also includes ice skating sessions running into mid-February, plus other scheduled activities and add-on experiences.

Across the weekend calendar, price points range from free community meetups to premium reserved-seat shows, with many events requiring advance tickets or registration.
