Municipal Meetings: City Council Zoning Session

The Charlotte City Council will convene for a Zoning Meeting on Monday, February 16, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center. Due to a high volume of petitions, including major proposals for Pence Road and Lombardy Circle, the meeting is expected to be lengthy and may be recessed at 10:00 p.m. if business is not concluded. The public may view the session live via the government channel or the city's official social media platforms.

Public Safety: Targeted Traffic Enforcement

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) has concluded a targeted enforcement operation at the intersection of West W.T. Harris Boulevard and North Tryon Street. Following a spike in local collisions, officers issued over 60 charges, with 41 citations specifically for red-light violations. Drivers are urged to exercise caution and strictly adhere to traffic signals at busy northeast intersections to reduce the risk of accidents.
