The City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County officials have released the following public notices and advisories active for Wednesday, February 11, 2026. These announcements include critical health information, transportation service updates, and the schedule for municipal government proceedings.
Mecklenburg County Health Alert: Measles Exposure
Mecklenburg County Public Health (MCPH) has issued an urgent advisory following three confirmed cases of measles in the region. Health officials have identified specific locations in south Charlotte where the public may have been exposed to the virus. Residents who visited the following establishments on the specified dates are advised to monitor for symptoms, including high fever, cough, and a red, blotchy rash:
- Vista Auction (2500 Sardis Road): Potential exposure occurred on January 29 and January 30, between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
- Lidl (9318 Monroe Road): Potential exposure occurred on January 30, between 2:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Individuals who are unvaccinated or immunocompromised and believe they were exposed should contact their healthcare provider before visiting a clinic in person to prevent further spread. The businesses involved are cooperating with health officials, and both locations have been cleared as safe for current patronage.
Transportation Notice: Blue Line Service Adjustments
The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is currently managing service impacts related to the installation of the Mecklenburg County Pedestrian Skybridge. Commuters using the LYNX Blue Line should note that a daily bus bridge is in effect between the 36th Street and UNCC stations. This shuttle service operates from 4:30 a.m. until approximately 7:00 a.m. to allow for heavy construction over the rail line. Regular rail service continues without interruption between the I-485 and 36th Street stations.
Official City Meeting Schedule
Several city boards and committees are scheduled to meet today at the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Government Center and Old City Hall. These sessions are open to the public:
