A midweek calendar led by theater and a citywide dining promotion

Charlotte’s event calendar for Tuesday through Friday, Jan. 20–23, 2026, includes a major touring Broadway stop in Uptown and the start of the region’s winter restaurant week, alongside arena programming that continues into the weekend.

Broadway in Uptown: “Monty Python’s Spamalot” opens Jan. 20

Blumenthal Arts’ PNC Broadway Lights Series brings “Monty Python’s Spamalot” to Belk Theatre beginning Tuesday, Jan. 20, with performances scheduled through Sunday, Jan. 25. For the Jan. 20–23 window, evening curtain times are listed at 7:30 p.m. each night at the Uptown venue on North Tryon Street.

The production is a stage musical comedy adapted from “Monty Python and the Holy Grail” and is marketed as appropriate for ages 8 and up, making it one of the few large-scale touring shows in town this week positioned for both adult audiences and families with older children.

Queen’s Feast begins Friday: Charlotte Restaurant Week runs Jan. 23–Feb. 1

Friday, Jan. 23 also marks the start of Queen’s Feast: Charlotte Restaurant Week, the winter edition of the region’s prix fixe dining event. Organizers list the 2026 run as a 10-day promotion from Jan. 23 through Feb. 1, spanning more than 100 restaurants across the Charlotte metro area.

Participating venues are spread across nine counties in the region: Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Gaston, Cleveland, Union, Lincoln, Catawba, Stanly and York. The core format is a multi-course, set-price menu, with published price points for 2026 commonly ranging from about $30 up to $55 per person depending on the restaurant. Reservations are widely encouraged, particularly for prime dining times during opening weekend.

  • Dates: Friday, Jan. 23–Sunday, Feb. 1, 2026

  • Where: Metro-area participating restaurants across nine counties

  • What to expect: Prix fixe, multi-course menus at set price tiers

Looking ahead to the weekend: a Spectrum Center milestone night on Jan. 24

While outside the Jan. 20–23 timeframe, Spectrum Center has scheduled a 20th anniversary theme night for Saturday, Jan. 24, when the Charlotte Hornets host the Washington Wizards. The arena has also tied the anniversary to its recently completed renovations and in-arena programming elements.

Planning note: With Restaurant Week beginning Jan. 23 and major Uptown performances running concurrently, diners and theatergoers should expect higher demand for reservations and pre-show dining near the city center.
