Infrastructure Milestone: Eastland Sports Campus Groundbreaking

Today, Friday, March 6, 2026, the City of Charlotte officially marks the beginning of construction on the Eastland Sports Campus. Located at the former Eastland Mall site (5625 Hollyfield Dr.), this groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. and represents a major step in the ongoing Eastland Yards master development project. Led by Crosland Southeast in partnership with the City of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County, the campus is designed to serve as a regional destination for sports and recreation. Residents are invited to attend the ceremony in person or view a live broadcast on the City’s GOV Channel.

Public Governance and Election Notices

Mecklenburg County officials have scheduled several official proceedings for today, March 6, to address public infrastructure and voter services:
